Houet: The prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Banzon, Si© Poda, met this Friday with the local population at the town hall's reception hall to raise awareness about the ban on stray animals in the municipality, particularly around and within the town hall grounds.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the PDS invited animal owners to monitor their animals and keep them in appropriate spaces to avoid damage to fields, which is often the cause of conflicts between farmers and herders. Comrade Poda also deplored the recurring presence of goats in the town hall courtyard, where their droppings cause a nuisance and contribute to the deterioration of the working environment.
He further denounced the acts of vandalism against municipal infrastructure and equipment by some children who use the premises as a playground. To this end, he reiterated that no children will henceforth be allowed to play on the town hall grounds in order to protect public facilities. Participants welcomed this awareness campaign and pledged to respect the measures enacted by the municipal authorities. The PDS (Democratic Party of Senegal) further warned that any violators will be subject to the penalties stipulated by current regulations.
