Koglweogo Self-Defense Group Leads Courthouse Cleanup in Bogande

Gnagna: Members of the “Koglweogo” self-defense group in Bogande conducted a large-scale cleanup operation in the courtyard of the city’s courthouse on the morning of Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The initiative, undertaken in the spirit of civic duty and solidarity, was commended by the judicial authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, at the first light of dawn on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the Koglweogo stormed the courtyard of the Bogande High Court. Far from their usual security patrol duties, these committed citizens traded their sticks and hunting rifles for rakes, machetes, and other cleaning tools to restore the courthouse grounds to their former glory and cleanliness.

For several hours, they weeded, swept, and collected garbage under the admiring gaze of the court staff. “We are security personnel, but also citizens concerned about the collective well-being. The cleanliness of the judicial environment is part of the respect we owe to justice,” said Kokoro Lankoande, a group leader.

The Chief Clerk of the Bogande High Court, Ma®tre Maurice Diapa, visibly moved by this initiative, expressed his gratitude to these “one-day workers”. ‘This gesture reflects a strong sense of civic duty and patriotism. The courthouse is a symbolic place, and this action by the Koglweogo deserves to be commended and encouraged,’ he declared.
