Koglweogo Self-Defense Groups Rally in Support of Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traor©


Bogand©: Hundreds of members of the Koglweogo self-defense groups, accompanied by residents of Gnagna province, participated this Monday in a peaceful march in support of the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©. The demonstrators expressed their support for the reforms undertaken by the national authorities and their commitment to working for peace, security, and stability in Burkina Faso.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the march commenced from the Koglweogo headquarters and proceeded to the High Commission of the province. The participants demonstrated their dedication to the ideals of sovereignty, national renewal, and patriotism, which are championed by President Traor©. Organized on January 26, 2026, the event included leaders and members of the Koglweogo groups alongside traditional chiefs. The demonstration aimed to publicly reaffirm their unwavering support for Captain Traor©, commend efforts in reclaiming national territory, and encourage ongoing institutional and security reforms.



In a statement read at the conclusion of the demonstration, the Koglweogo of Gnagna underscored their commitment to supporting the initiatives of the highest authorities in the country. They emphasized their determination to contribute to the fight against threats to peace and stability, while adhering to the laws and institutions of the Republic.



According to Djingri Lankoand©, the provincial president of the Koglweogo self-defense groups in Gnagna, this citizen mobilization sends a robust message of social cohesion, patriotism, and responsibility, especially in a national context seeking peace, sovereignty, and development. He advocated for increased security to facilitate the resettlement of displaced communities.



Upon receiving the demonstrators’ message, the High Commissioner of Gnagna Province, Jean-Baptiste Beogo, commended the Koglweogo’s initiative and their commitment to supporting the armed forces in securing the territory. He urged all residents to remain united for the sustained return of peace and assured that the message and grievances would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities.



The march concluded without incident, under the supervision of security forces, in an environment marked by patriotic fervor and collective determination.
