Koosin/bourasso: The third round of the seasonal malaria chemoprevention campaign, scheduled from September 17 to 20, 2026, was launched on Thursday, September 17 in the courtyard of the Bourasso Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS), targeting 700 children aged 3 to 59 months.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign is directed by Zakaria Sina, the major of the Centre for Health and Social Promotion (CSPS) of Bourasso, and will span four days using a door-to-door strategy. Zakaria Sina expressed gratitude to state authorities and partners, highlighting the importance of the chemoprevention strategy in safeguarding children against malaria.

Additionally, the campaign incorporates malnutrition screening to enhance overall children's health management. To maximize the campaign's effectiveness, Sina urged parents, particularly mothers and fathers, to ensure their children remain at home when the campaign teams visit.

Daniel Traor©, representing the local notables, extended his appreciation to health and state authorities for the initiative. He encouraged parents to cooperate by making their children available for drug distribution and screening operations. Traor© also emphasized the necessity for campaign agents to execute their duties professionally to help meet the campaign's goals.

The launch ceremony concluded with a symbolic gesture, as the head of the Bourasso CSPS administered the first dose of medicine to a 10-month-old boy, marking the commencement of the campaign.
