Nouna: The Association of Students of Catholic Schools (AEEC) collaborated with the residents of sector 3 for a community service initiative named "My Clean City" on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The initiative aimed at fostering a sense of community and improving public spaces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the AEEC, which includes the private high school Saint M'baga Tuzinde, Charles Lwanga college, and the vocational training center, organized this event to align with the ideals of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP). The activity was a part of their commitment to the well-being of their members and the broader community.
The cleanup operation involved AEEC members working alongside local residents to fill potholes along several key routes, including the stretch from Ouezzin Coulibaly roundabout to the CFP wall, the main gate of the Local Cultural Center to the cathedral, and from the OCADES wall to the road in front of Jean Lessourd stadium. Additionally, students collected plastic waste as part of the morning's efforts.
Maximillien Yadia, the association's president and a student at the vocational training center, emphasized the importance of these activities in making a tangible impact in the community. "We want to contribute to the work of common interest carried out by the youth of sector 3 every Saturday morning," he stated.
Yadia also highlighted the need for youth involvement in presidential initiatives, stressing the importance of supporting national authorities and encouraging environmental awareness among students.
One participating student expressed a desire for increased teacher involvement in future editions of the cleanup initiative. The "My Clean City" operation, now in its first edition, is expected to continue with active participation from Nouna's student community.
