Ouagadougou: A food distribution operation began this Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Dokuy, benefiting vulnerable populations and resettled villages. The initiative, led by the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR), aims to support beneficiaries through a donation of 88 tons of food products.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the National Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CONASUR), represented by Madi Nanema, provided support to the resettled village populations through a donation of food. The distribution of food took place in Dokuy in the presence of members of the citizen watch group as well as the leaders of the beneficiary villages.

The donation of 88 tonnes consists of corn, rice, and spaghetti. It is intended for the populations of the 25 resettled villages, the 20 farming hamlets, as well as vulnerable people in the commune. The previously identified beneficiaries receive support from the various village leaders so that they can take possession of their donations.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Losiani Konat, representing the village chief of Dokuy, expressed his gratitude to the state for this food assistance. He stressed that this support comes at a crucial time, marked by the lean season. Arma Laya, representative of Tomikoroni, also expressed satisfaction and welcomed this initiative in support of the most vulnerable populations.

The distribution operation will continue until Friday, July 17, 2026, in order to cover all the localities concerned, according to a program established for this purpose.
