Koosin/Justice: Installation of Magistrates and Swearing-In of Court Clerks at the High Court

Nouna: The President of the Nouna High Court, Moussa Bassan, presided over the installation ceremony of three magistrates and the swearing-in of two court clerks. The ceremony was attended by administrative, customary, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as members of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

According to Burkina Information Agency, since the Nouna High Court (TGI) returned to its premises, the first formal hearing took place on Friday, January 16, 2026, in two phases. The first phase was dedicated to the installation of three magistrates newly graduated from the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). They respectively hold the positions of Deputy Prosecutor and Deputy Government Commissioner at the Administrative Court for Drissa Drabo, Investigating Judge and Juvenile Judge for Karafako Coulibaly, and Investigating Judge for Lessi Coulibaly.

The new magistrates were given a reading of the texts governing their positions. The Prosecutor of Faso at the Nouna High Court, Armel Sama, after his address, offered them advice and urged them to be servants of the people in matters of justice.

The second phase consisted of the swearing-in of the two court clerks. Sougr-noma Yves Junior was sworn in as court clerk, and Mose Zemba assumed the duties of secretary general of the court clerk's office and prosecutor's office. The ceremony was marked by a speech from Prosecutor Sama, who assured the new magistrates and clerks of the support and guidance of their predecessors. He also emphasized that the administration's doors would be open should the need arise.

The Prosecutor of Faso at the Nouna High Court, Armel Sama, urged the newcomers to communicate effectively and be welcoming.
