Koosin/Nouna District Health Council: Stakeholders Advocate for a Successful Combined Campaign


Nouna: The High Commissioner of Koosin Province, Noufo Dembele, led the Nouna Health District Health Council meeting to launch an advocacy campaign against polio, which also includes vitamin A supplementation and deworming. The initiative aims to target 72,012 children aged 0 to 59 months.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the advocacy session on Friday, November 7, 2025, gathered administrative, religious, and customary authorities, as well as community leaders, to prepare them for the polio vaccination campaign. This campaign, which is coupled with vitamin A supplementation and deworming, seeks to effectively engage these leaders in the process.



The four-day campaign is scheduled to run from November 7th to 10th, 2025, and will be conducted throughout the Nouna health district. It focuses on raising awareness and mobilizing community involvement to ensure the health of the targeted children.



Ibrahim Ouedraogo, head of the expanded immunization program, emphasized that the success of the campaign hinges on community participation and social mobilization. Encouraging parents to understand and partake in the campaign is considered crucial.



High Commissioner Noufo Dembele expressed his gratitude towards the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their active participation and support in the initiative.
