Ouagadougou: In an effort to build their own community and respond to the RPP's call, civil servants and students from Dembo planted 38 trees. This activity aligns with the Head of State's vision of building the country through local development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this reforestation effort is in its second year. Around 9 a.m., civil servants, students, pupils, and local residents gathered at the schoolyard, equipped with picks, machetes, and hoes. While some planted the trees, others put on tree protectors.

Henry Dama, the representative of the civil servants, stated that "this year marks the second edition of the planting. We do not intend to stop now. We will continue this initiative. We will extend it to other areas such as the rehabilitation of the village school or the construction of a new school. The buildings are quite dilapidated. It is up to us to take action. And we will."

Seydou Daman, the chief of the village of Dembo, welcomed the initiative and urged the participants to reach an agreement because, according to him, "Without agreement, there is no progress," and invited the population to unite and work together.

At the conclusion of the reforestation, an awareness session on plant maintenance and on mobilizing people for the village cause was conducted. Led by Bakary Konat, this campaign focused on the cardinal values of Burkinab citizens such as good behavior, love of country, integrity, and legality. He invited the people to motivate their sons and daughters to build the village.

Innocent Daman, the chairman of the Lyce council, warmly thanked all those involved and promised proper maintenance of the planted trees.
