Koubri: The people of the commune of Koubri mobilized strongly on Saturday for the community operation to drain the Nagbangre dam, as part of the preparations for the dredging of the commune's water reservoirs. The activity took place in the presence of the president of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality, Samade Leonard Gougou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, large numbers of people, alongside village development committees (CVDs) and market gardeners, took part in draining the water from the dam to facilitate the planned dredging work. About sixty motor pumps were mobilized by the organizers to speed up the draining operation.
In a spirit of solidarity, a community meal prepared on site was offered to the participants. The operation continued throughout Saturday night and was still ongoing on Sunday.
The PDS of the Koubri commune, Samade Leonard Gougou, praised the strong mobilization of the population. "This mobilization reflects the commitment of the people to preserve the hydraulic infrastructure essential to the agricultural and market gardening activities of the commune," he declared. Mr. Gougou also invited the people to maintain this community dynamic for the success of the dam dredging operations in the commune.
