Koubri: The Koubri town hall, in collaboration with the police station, conducted a large-scale operation Friday morning to put an end to persistent dangerous behavior on National Road No. 5 (RN5), particularly that of street vendors running behind vehicles to sell their products.

According to Burkina Information Agency, these practices, which have become recurrent despite awareness campaigns, expose users and residents to serious risks of accidents on a daily basis. Several incidents have recently been narrowly avoided, alerting local officials to the need for immediate action.

During the operation, officers seized the goods used during these high-speed chases, a measure intended to discourage offenders and to remind people that the public highway is not a space for disorder.

In an approach combining firmness and education, the town hall also imposed a corrective measure on those involved: their participation in the removal of corn recently harvested in the communal field. According to the authorities, this initiative aims to strengthen civic responsibility and engage everyone in protecting the community.

The Koubri town hall announces that this operation marks the beginning of a stricter crackdown on road traffic offenses on the RN5. It calls on residents to adopt responsible behavior and support the actions undertaken to guarantee the safety and peace of mind of the inhabitants.
