Hanoi: Launched on July 28, the 2nd edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion is taking place in good conditions on all the sites visited where civic and patriotic training is generating particular enthusiasm among young people, including those from the diaspora.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a visit to the Koudougou municipal and provincial high schools, accompanied by members of the IPO regional coordination team, revealed a high level of participation. The municipal high school has 527 male students enrolled, while the provincial high school has 458 female students.
Hyacinthe Yamogo, the regional director of Secondary, Vocational and Technical Education in Nando, expressed that the mid-term assessment is satisfactory. "The patriotic immersion program is progressing very well at the twelve sites spread across the Koudougou, Ro and Lo regions, with a total of 6,463 participants, including 3,257 girls," he stated.
He highlighted improvements made to this second edition, including the strengthening of the organization, the provision of the "callee's notebook" and the involvement of "mother advisors" in the supervision of young people.
At the various sites, the conscripts follow daily physical activities, drill sessions as well as modules on civics, first aid, and road safety. Lieutenant Seydou Bagayiri of the Water and Forestry Department, a supervisor at the municipal high school, emphasized that close order helps to develop the discipline, rigor, and spirit of cohesion essential to community life.
Participants expressed their satisfaction with the experience. Mohamed Oubila Kapioko, the general delegate at the municipal high school, stated that this immersion allowed them to acquire useful knowledge while strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among the young people.
At the provincial high school, facilitator Windsodo Urbain Kabor emphasizes that the modules dedicated to geopolitical issues and development aim to strengthen the civic awareness of participants and their understanding of the challenges facing Burkina Faso.
One of the distinctive features of this edition remains the notable participation of young Burkinab¨ from the diaspora. Coming from Ivory Coast, Sylv¨re Kondombo says he has acquired important skills, particularly in first aid, while Odette Bazame is delighted to receive teachings based on patriotism, unity, and solidarity on the land of her ancestors.
The general delegate of the conscripts from the provincial high school, Ara Derra, praised the cohesion that reigns among the participants as well as the quality of the supervision.
With just a few days left before the scheduled closing on August 26, 2026, this second edition of the patriotic immersion continues to strengthen the values ??of discipline, solidarity, and civic engagement among young people.
