Kenedougou: Students in Kouini made aware of good hygiene practices through an awareness session held at the Kouini public primary school. This session was part of the celebration of the International Menstrual Health and Hygiene Day organized in the Basic Education District (CEB) of Djigouera.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event featured speeches emphasizing the significance of menstrual hygiene in educational settings. The chairman of the school council, Lamoussa Ouattara, expressed gratitude to the participants and acknowledged the initiative’s role in educating students on health-related issues.
Abdoul Kader Kabore, the school director, encouraged students to engage attentively with the discussions to gain valuable advice. Jean Paul Traore, Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Djigouera, highlighted the importance of the International Menstrual Health and Hygiene Day and urged students to adopt health-positive behaviors.
Salifou Traore, the State Midwife of the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) of Kouini, led the communication for the event’s theme. He provided practical explanations and demonstrations, educating students on menstrual hygiene rules, health precautions, and appropriate attitudes during the menstrual period.
