Ouagadougou: The General Education College (CEG) of Kouloho, located in the commune of Founzan in Tuy province, awarded prizes to its 25 best students on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Under the theme "Promoting excellence and the values of living together in resilience in the context of a security crisis," the ceremony took place under the patronage of the village chief, His Majesty Lot¨ Daourou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, 25 students, five per class, were honored for their outstanding results. Each received a school kit and a financial envelope. The top students in each class were awarded a bicycle as a special reward. Among the winners was Marie Claire Daourou, a 5th-grade student who achieved the best average of 19.18/20. Expressing her happiness, Marie Claire pledged to maintain her rank next year and thanked her teachers and parents for their support.
The director of the Kouloho General Education College, Babou Bamouni, expressed satisfaction with the success rate exceeding 80%. He praised the commitment and selflessness of the college staff. Bamouni also acknowledged the special municipal delegation of Founzan for constructing a new administrative building, although he emphasized that the main challenge remains the lack of staff, leading to overcrowded classes.
On behalf of the sponsors, Lonkou G©rard Yaro, correspondent for the association €š¬°cole sans Fronti¨res 66 (ESF66), expressed gratitude for being chosen as sponsors and congratulated the winners. He encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence and praised the efforts of the teaching staff, urging parents to become more involved in their children's education.
The president of the special communal delegation of Founzan, Wahabo Kabor©, commended the resilience of education stakeholders in Kouloho and encouraged students to draw inspiration from the awardees. The celebration also featured the final of the inter-class competitions in athletics and football, with winners receiving prizes.
On the sidelines of the event, His Majesty Lot¨ Daourou donated medical-technical equipment, including trolleys and screens, to the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) on behalf of the village population.
