Koulpelogo: Lalgaye Celebrates a Day of Academic Excellence Under the Banner of Resilience and Social Cohesion


Koulpelogo: The commune of Lalgaye, in the province of Koulpelogo, hosted the first edition of the School Excellence Day, themed “Encouraging the resilience of Burkinabe schools and social cohesion.”



According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was led by the Secretary General representing the High Commissioner of Koulpelogo, alongside several administrative, customary, and educational authorities.



The day was initiated by Kassoum Koudougou, president of the Movement of Young People Committed to Development (MOJED), who also served as the president of the organizing committee. The event featured various activities, including a popular race and a football match between the youth and civil servants’ teams, which concluded with a 1-0 victory for the youth. Additionally, a symbolic reforestation took place at the “A” school in Lalgaye.



Prizes were awarded to the top students from local schools, including bicycles, school bags, financial envelopes, and certificates of merit. Recognition was also given to community figures such as the head of the military detachment, the VDP chief, deserving teachers, and public service managers for their roles in fostering resilience and local cohesion.



In his address, the Secretary General of the province, Patinde Zoungrana, highlighted the importance of the event in reinforcing the resilience of Burkinabe schools and social cohesion amid challenging national circumstances. He emphasized the role of schools as foundational elements in the nation’s reconstruction and commended the courage and determination of teachers and students facing security issues.



Kassoum Koudougou, the event’s promoter, honored the Defense and Security Forces, the VDP, and the people of Lalgaye for their resilience. He underscored the significance of education and excellence as catalysts for progress and urged the youth to work towards a united, peaceful, and prosperous Burkina Faso.



His Majesty Naaba Monlfo, Chief of Lalgaye, expressed gratitude towards the event’s promoter, while praying for peace and protection for the population. Jacques Dabone, President of the special delegation of Lalgaye, praised the organizing committee and acknowledged the tireless efforts of the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland in securing the region.



The event concluded on a positive note, celebrated by participants as an initiative that inspires hope among the youth and advocates for resilient, inclusive, and united Burkinabe schools. The event was sponsored by Mr. Amidou Koudougou, also known as Yaana Koudougou.
