Ouagadougou: More than 300 teachers from various high schools and colleges in the province of Koulpelogo are taking part, from September 16 to 18, 2026, in Ouargaye, in educational animation days dedicated to the appropriation of the reforms of the education system. The opening ceremony was marked by the reading of the speech of the Minister of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training by the High Commissioner of Koulpelogo, Sadou Ouedraogo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director of secondary, vocational and technical education, Jacobe Segda, stated that these days provide a framework for reflection, exchange, and sharing of experiences between teachers and educational supervisors. The work will focus in particular on vocational and technical training, the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT), career introductions, and career profiles. Four themes will be explored over the three days through presentations and discussions.

In his speech, the minister stressed the need to adapt the education system to economic and social changes and to improve the professional integration of young people. "We are making the strategic and deliberate choice to direct a majority of learners towards vocational and technical education," he said, according to his speech read by the High Commissioner. He also emphasized the significance of science and technology education and the integration of ICT to strengthen educational continuity and the resilience of the education system.

The minister praised the commitment of the teachers and paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their sacrifices in securing the territory and ensuring the continuity of school activities. These days should allow participants to better understand the reforms and to develop strategies for their implementation in the establishments of Koulpelogo.
