Koulp©logo/Soudougui: Eid al-Adha Celebrated with Religious Fervor and Prayers for the Nation


Koulp©logo: Muslim faithful in the commune of Soudougui celebrated the Eid al-Adha festival, commonly known as Tabaski, on Wednesday in an atmosphere of religious fervor, communion, and prayers for peace in Burkina Faso. From the early hours of the morning, a large crowd gathered at the communal grounds of Soudougui to perform the great prayer marking this important Muslim holiday.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the prayer was led by the Grand Imam, Oumarou Dodizanga, in the presence of local customary and religious authorities who came to show their solidarity with the Muslim community. In his sermon, the imam implored divine blessings upon the leaders of Burkina Faso and offered prayers for the return of lasting peace to the country. ‘May God protect the FDS, the VDP and all the people of Burkina Faso. May peace reign in Burkina Faso,’ wished Imam Oumarou Dodizanga before the faithful.



For his part, Saidou Pedehombga, a member of the communal Muslim committee, invited young people to promote solidarity, understanding, and social cohesion in order to preserve peace within communities. The celebration ended with the imam sacrificing his sheep in front of the faithful Muslim, in accordance with the tradition of Eid al-Adha.
