Kourittenga 2025 Provincial Consultation Framework Reviews Achievements and Plans

Koup©la: The second session of the Kourittenga 2025 Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) was held from May 27 to 28, 2025, in Koup©la, with financial support from Enabel, the NGO Ile de Paix, and the NGO Welt Hunger Hilfe. It brought together NGOs, associations, development agencies, technical and financial partners, and the province's administrative authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session provided a platform for over fifteen participating NGOs, associations, and development and humanitarian agencies to review the actions undertaken in 2024 and plan for 2025. The High Commissioner of Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, highlighted the session's role in addressing the difficulties encountered in implementing projects and programs.

The session also served as an opportunity for the High Court of Koup©la to inform participants about the law on the administration of community service in Burkina Faso, while the provincial directorate in charge of Agriculture shared results from the dry season activities and future prospects. According to the directorate, nearly 1,000 tons of fertilizer will be available for producers in the 2025 season.

The representative of Enabel, Sana Koara, announced plans to empower women and girls economically through the Digital for Girls and Women project, which has a budget of 2.25 million euros. Meanwhile, the Association solidarit© action faire face (ASAFF), through its Zems© 2 project, aims to combat child marriage, female genital mutilation, and violence against children with a budget of 36,895,500 CFA francs.

Rita Soma from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) presented three projects and three programs for 2025, focusing on local governance, social cohesion, recovery, resilience strengthening, and countering violent extremism. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) shared its efforts from 2024, which included issuing 800 birth certificates and 1,911 CNIBs in Andemtenga, and constructing a community center in Koup©la. In 2025, UNHCR plans to issue 1,000 birth certificates to 400 internally displaced persons and 300 hosts, and 550 birth certificates to other populations in Kourittenga.

Participants expressed concerns over resource mobilization challenges and recommended support for IDPs in communes such as Tensobtenga, Gounghin, and Koup©la. The High Commissioner, Moctar Ilboudo, affirmed the framework's objectives were met and thanked all partners, particularly Enabel, NGO WHH, and NGO Ile de Paix, for their contributions to the session.
