Kourittenga: Christ Roi Private High School in Lilgomd© concluded its 2025-2026 academic year activities this Friday, May 29, 2026, with a Eucharistic celebration held on the school grounds. The closing mass was celebrated by the diocesan director of Catholic education, Father C©sar Guiguemd©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event featured songs of thanksgiving and biblical readings, marking the end of the school year. The Eucharistic celebration served as a moment of reflection and blessings for the entire educational community.
Father C©sar Guiguemd©, in his homily, encouraged students to cultivate work, respect, and perseverance throughout their schooling. He congratulated both teachers and students on their efforts during the 2025-2026 school year, noting their commendable results. He mentioned that some students would join their parents the next day, while others would face the official end-of-year exams, such as the BEPC and the BAC. He expressed a wish for solidarity among the students to overcome challenges together, aiming for a 100% success rate by the end of the year.
A significant part of the ceremony was the recognition of the top female students in the high school. During the school year, the school had an enrollment of 258 students, and several girls received awards for their excellence. In total, 23 girls, including the top three from each class from 6th to 12th grade and the top girls from each cycle, were rewarded.
Sister Malika Sylvie, the headmistress of Christ Roi Private High School, congratulated the distinguished students and encouraged all learners to strive for excellence. She announced that 216 students passed with very good averages, while 42 did not achieve the expected results, urging that failure should be seen as a lesson for better future preparation.
Nadembega/Zougrana Clarisse, the ceremony's sponsor and president of the Association of Women Lawyers of Faso, encouraged the girls to believe in their abilities and to be ambitious. She emphasized the importance of standing together and giving their best, as they are a source of pride for their families and a hope for the country.
Dieudonn© Belemsigri, the provincial director in charge of secondary education in Kourittenga, praised the efforts in support of girls' education and encouraged the school's leaders to continue in this direction. He highlighted that Christ Roi High School is a benchmark in education and instruction, with a previous record of a 100% success rate in the BEPC and the BAC exams.
