Kourittenga High Commissioner Demonstrates Civic Duty on Exemplary Tax Compliance Day

Burkina faso: On the occasion of the day of exemplary tax compliance, the High Commissioner of the province of Kourittenga, Moctar Ilboudo, made a strong act of civic duty by paying his residence tax this Wednesday, March 18, 2026. The payment was made at the counter of the provincial tax directorate of Kourittenga, in the presence of several administrative and local authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, with this gesture, the High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province, Moctar Ilboudo, intends to set an example and remind all citizens of the importance of respecting their tax obligations. Tax compliance is described as an essential pillar of local and national development. Moctar Ilboudo emphasized that if the population demonstrates tax compliance, it can promote sustainable and endogenous development for the benefit of all.

The High Commissioner launched a general appeal for the payment of various taxes, including the residence tax, the tax on weapons, and the tax on motor vehicles. This initiative is part of a broader effort to raise awareness and empower citizens, in order to strengthen the internal resources necessary for financing development projects.

To underscore the importance of this day, Moctar Ilboudo was accompanied by the provincial secretary general, the president of the Koup©la special delegation, and several other authorities and citizens who came to demonstrate their commitment to tax compliance. Through this symbolic act, the provincial authorities of Kourittenga intend to instill a culture of responsibility and exemplary tax observance among the population.
