Kourittenga: Minister Roger Baro Visits Water Works in Pouytenga

Kourittenga: The Minister in charge of Sanitation, Roger Baro, carried out a guided tour on the state of the water works built within the departmental high school of Pouytenga, at a cost of more than 20 million CFA francs. The Pouytenga departmental high school, in the Kourittenga province, benefited from a 10 m3 water tower with two feeders, built at a cost of more than 20 million CFA francs.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Sanitation, Roger Baro, visited this drinking water facility at the Pouytenga departmental high school. He indicated that the waterworks noted, starting with a human-powered pump at the school, have been rehabilitated into a system with two feeders that have a total of twelve standpipes to provide students with drinking water.

"These achievements in this establishment are part of the dynamic of supplying drinking water to schools, which is a branch of the presidential initiative adopted on June 20, 2024, to promote quality education for all," said Minister Baro. He urged the beneficiaries to mobilize for the sustainable management of the water structures built.

Donatienne Yameogo, a Tle A student at the Pouytenga Departmental High School, thanked the authorities for the initiative on behalf of the school's students. "We, the students of the establishment, have planned a maintenance program for the proper and sustainable management of these water structures built within our establishment," said the student representative.
