Kourittenga: The High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province, Moctar Ilboudo, along with representatives from various institutions, commenced the Baccalaureate exams by opening the first set of exam papers at Pouytenga Municipal High School. This year, the exams see the participation of 2,131 candidates, consisting of 939 boys and 1,192 girls. The province has noted a significant decrease of more than 300 candidates compared to previous years.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner encouraged candidates to maintain calm and confidence throughout the examination process. He emphasized the importance of relying on their knowledge and abstaining from any cheating attempts, advising, “Be at ease, stay focused, and trust in the work you have done throughout the school year. Success depends first and foremost on your personal efforts.”
The provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training, Dieudonn© Belemssigri, also addressed the candidates, urging them to exhibit focus, discipline, and determination to achieve results that align with their expectations and those of their families. He highlighted the decrease in candidate numbers, attributing it to the allure of gold panning and other income-generating activities that divert young people from their education.
Belemssigri called on students to prioritize their education, viewing it as a critical lever for both personal and collective development.
