Kourittenga Training Workshop: COPROSUR Adopts a Contingency Plan for the Province

Koupela: Members of the Provincial Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Committee (COPROSUR) of Kourittenga convened for a training workshop from April 13 to 17, 2026, in Koupela. The workshop, aimed at formulating a contingency plan for the province, was chaired by Moctar Ilboudo, the High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province. It was organized with support from the NGO Welthungerhilfe in collaboration with the Zood-Noma Association for Development, through the TEELTAABA project.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the workshop was part of ongoing disaster risk reduction efforts within the province. It was designed to enhance the skills of stakeholders in managing disaster risks and responding to humanitarian crises effectively. The workshop also focused on developing a comprehensive contingency plan for Kourittenga Province.

Activities during the five-day event included data collection, analysis, and processing, alongside the drafting, validation, and finalization of the contingency plan. The workshop emphasized supporting municipalities and local institutions in vulnerability analysis, implementing their plans, building community capacities, and creating women leaders' clubs.

Arana Pare, President of the Special Delegation of the Kando municipality, expressed satisfaction with the workshop, acknowledging its significance for the province and COPROSUR stakeholders. He encouraged all stakeholders to collaborate synergistically when necessary.

Moctar Ilboudo, the High Commissioner of Kourittenga, praised the active participation and interest of all stakeholders present at the workshop. He highlighted the anticipated strong involvement and commitment from both public and private technical partners in implementing the province's contingency plan.
