Koupela: As part of the Women's Month celebrations, Amelie Bine, a hardworking upholsterer based in Koupela's Sector 1, was highlighted. Through her work and determination, she embodies the image of a courageous woman who strives for her own empowerment and that of those around her.
According to Burkina Information Agency, having settled in Koupela in 2020, Amelie Bine still remembers the difficult beginnings, but thanks to her passion for tapestry and her desire to become self-employed, she never gave up. Over the years, she has developed considerable expertise in this craft, undertaking various projects related to carpets and upholstery.
A homemaker and mother, Ms. Bine must balance her domestic responsibilities with her professional activity. Each day, she first takes care of the household chores before going to her workshop to practice her craft. Beyond her own personal growth, the upholsterer also contributes to the empowerment of other young people. Several of them have benefited from her training and have succeeded in opening their own upholstery workshops. Currently, three young people are still apprentices with her.
According to Amandine Yendate, one of her apprentices, Amelie Bine is an exemplary boss. "Amelie is a good boss." 'She loves her work and readily shares her knowledge with us. She greatly encourages us to persevere,' she testifies. Thanks to her business, Amelie Bine is also able to contribute significantly to the family expenses. 'This work allows me to support my family and contribute to their expenses. I thank God for everything He has enabled me to achieve,' she confides.
During Women's Rights Month, the upholsterer is making a plea to her sisters who are not yet employed. She encourages them to get up and find income-generating activities to achieve independence. Through her courage, perseverance, and commitment to youth education, Amelie Bine has become an inspiring example of a resilient woman in the city of Koupela.
