Labor Day Celebrated in Barsalogho Under the Banner of Social Cohesion and Resilience

Sandbondtenga: The population of the commune of Barsalogho celebrated Labor Day on Friday under the banner of social cohesion and resilience, marked by several activities aimed at strengthening the links between the Servants of the People of the commune and the local population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, activities began at 5:30 a.m. with a popular cross-country run of approximately 1.5 km, followed by an aerobics session. Young people, women, senior citizens, civil servants, and members of the defense and security forces then participated in board games such as petanque, wale, and ludo.

The highlight of the event was an exhibition match between the Servants of the People team and the local youth team. The civil servants won the match 2-1.

According to the organizers, this day aimed to strengthen ties between civil servants and the people of Barsalogho. "We are delighted to have created this synergy between the servants of the people and the residents," said Abdou-Hamidou Ouedraogo, one of the organizers.

The president of the special delegation (PDS) of Barsalogho Sansan Mathias Pale, welcomed the initiative and indicated that it is particularly beneficial for the commune in the current context. "The commemoration of this day also helps to strengthen cohesion between the population, the servants of the people and the security forces, who sometimes need spaces for dialogue to establish mutual trust," he stressed. He finally invited everyone to work to change the image of the 2020 security crisis, which is still associated with the municipality by some.
