Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of the Banwa province, Sanfiénalé Joseph Sirima, presided over the launch of the second edition of the provincial initiative Faso Baara on the Balavé road, in the presence of the local population. The event took place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, with the aim of improving access to the commune of Balavé from the provincial capital of Solenzo by maintaining the 25 km Solenzo-Balavé road.According to Burkina Information Agency, directors, department heads, customary and religious dignitaries, along with women's and youth organizations, gathered at the exit of Solenzo equipped with shovels, wheelbarrows, and pickaxes to participate in the initiative. Two dump trucks were employed to transport loose stones for filling the potholes, while tricycles delivered laterite and additional loose stones.High Commissioner Sirima highlighted that the second edition was launched to maintain various roads and ease the flow of traffic until the Faso Mêbo agency's work begins in Banwa provinc e. Rodrigue Coulibaly, the provincial coordinator of citizen watch, emphasized that this initiative will enable the residents of Balavé and Tansila communes to travel to Solenzo with fewer difficulties, as the route becomes particularly challenging during the winter season.However, the activity was interrupted by a rainstorm, and a new meeting was scheduled for the following Saturday to continue the work.
