Ouagadougou: The population of Lba turned out in large numbers on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, for the rehabilitation of the Lba-Ragueguema inter-village rural track. Faced with the deterioration of the Lba-Ragueguema road, the local population took the initiative to mobilize in order to give this road a second wind.
According to Burkina Information Agency, armed with shovels and picks, everyone had a role to play in unloading the numerous tricycles filled with wild stones or red earth used to fill the potholes that hinder traffic on this section. The Toog-naba, who initiated the activity, thanked the population for their strong turnout on behalf of His Majesty Naba Bouli. He stated that while the authorities are already making efforts, they cannot do everything. Therefore, the idea arose to alleviate the suffering of those using this deteriorated section of road.
According to Tasser Oudrogo, the local president of the citizens' watchdog group in Lba, the politically aware youth could not remain on the sidelines of this historic event. "Ambulances and many other users pass through this road, and it was time to act to facilitate their travel," he added.
This activity was attended by the representative of the Presidency of Faso for the Yaadga Region, Sanata Oudraogo, the Secretary General of the Lba town hall, Harouna Bonkoungou, and members of the Special Delegation who came to encourage this fine community initiative. "It is a commendable undertaking," acknowledged the secretary general, who in his message conveyed the town hall's willingness to support any good work that contributes to the development of the municipality.
As for the project manager, this activity aligns perfectly with the Presidential Initiative for Community Development. She believes that communities have the right, but also the duty, to develop all necessary actions to support the authorities who are already working for the common good.
As a reminder, this mobilization constitutes the first step in the maintenance of this section of road. The next step is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
