Sissili:The Leo Veterans team emerged victorious in the final of the 3rd edition of the Maracana "United Youth" tournament, held on Saturday, September 26, 2026. They defeated the Lions of ChSteau 1-0, claiming a prize of 100,000 FCFA. The event focused on the theme "Sport and professional integration of young people from Sissili a step towards employment."

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament was overseen by the High Commissioner of Sissili, Twind Isaac Sia, and jointly sponsored by entrepreneur Papa Prsident Tchfari and Alassane Guiend, CEO of the Auberge Sissili. The competition concluded with a spirit of unity and community engagement.

The winning team, Anciennes Gloires de Lo, received the trophy, a set of jerseys, medals, and the cash prize. The runner-up, Lions du ChSteau, was awarded jerseys, medals, a ball, and 50,000 FCFA. Tangzougou FC, which secured third place, took home a ball and 30,000 FCFA.

Promoter Amidou Sougu expressed satisfaction with the event's turnout, highlighting the unity among the people of Lo, the youth, and local authorities. He called for continued support from partners for future editions and encouraged local youth to uphold the values of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) and follow the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traor.

Bouma Alfred Nbi, representing the sponsors, expressed gratitude for the administrative authorities' involvement. He reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen peace and social cohesion in Sissili and Burkina Faso, while urging young people to balance sports and professional life for regional development.

The captain of the winning team emphasized the role of sport in fostering integration, stating, "Today, there are no real losers it's the youth who win, it's Lo who wins, it's the whole community that wins," affirming their continued support for sports initiatives in the province.
