Leraba: The High Commissioner of Leraba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo, led the monthly national flag-raising ceremony on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Douna, a department 10 km east of Sindou, the province's capital. The event called for increased dedication to the province's development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the national flag was hoisted at 07:30, accompanied by the national anthem, within the grounds of Douna's prefecture. This event is part of a rotating flag-raising ceremony held across the eight departments of Leraba Province. Launched in 2022, the initiative aims to cultivate a sense of national pride and respect for state symbols.

The ceremony, previously held monthly, will now occur every two months in alphabetical rotation among Leraba's departments. This change seeks to foster patriotic commitment across the province. High Commissioner Sawadogo emphasized the ceremony's significance and encouraged adherence to the vision of a progressive popular revolution.

Sawadogo urged participants to maintain the work pace and contribute to national development. The event included visits to Douna's technical services, where Sawadogo commended local achievements. He also visited the traditional chief of Douna to receive blessings for peace in public services.

The next ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the provincial police headquarters in Sindou.
