The High Commissioner of the Léraba province, Mahamadi Congo, chaired, on Saturday May 11, 2024 in Sindou, the day of tribute to the late founder of the Léraba provincial high school, Dr Seydou Traoré, organized by the students of the said high school, under the theme: ‘Tribute to Dr Seydou Traoré, what mechanism to create the culture of excellence within the establishment’.

The students of the Léraba provincial high school organized a day of tribute, on Saturday May 11, 2024 in Sindou, to the late founder of the Léraba provincial high school, Dr Seydou Traoré.

Under the chairmanship of the Provincial Director in charge of Post-Primary Education of Léraba, Mamadou Koné, the day, the first of its kind, was launched within the premises of the establishment in Sindou.

Formerly called “Léraba provincial high school”, the establishment was a general education college (CEG) created on August 10, 1988, then renamed “Dr Seydou Traoré provincial high school” following a decree taken on October 14, 2014 by the autho
rities in charge of Education.

The idea for this day of tribute was born from the students and their principal during discussions concerning the organization of end-of-year cultural activities within the establishment.

For the principal of this high school, administrator of high schools and colleges, Lassina Karama, the objective is to promote the culture of excellence while allowing the visibility of the establishment in the country.

‘In this sense, there is officially a ‘Dr Seydou Traoré prize’ for the best students and the best actors who contribute to the promotion of education within the establishment,’ he indicated.

The edition saw the participation of administrative and customary figures as well as an Ivorian delegation accompanying the three sons of the deceased.

A conference was delivered on the collection of tributes to the life of Dr Seydou Traoré followed by direct exchanges with the sons and the first authorities, a mobilization of funds for the erection of a monument bearing the effigy of D
r Seydou Traoré within the establishment and the laying of the first stone by the first authorities of the province.

The son of the deceased, a banker in Ivory Coast, Ibrahim Traoré, who sponsored the ceremony, promised to keep future editions alive.
