Bogande: A literary cafe was held at the town hall meeting room to raise awareness about the devastating effects of alcoholism among young people. Author Banhanla Guitanga presented her book, "Between Two Intoxications: Old People Clinging, Young People Destroyed," to an audience that included traditional, administrative, and educational authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the patronage of the High Commissioner of Gnagna, Jean Baptiste Beogo, and was sponsored by the Provincial Director of Secondary, Vocational, and Technical Education, Tiewende Jean Balima. His Majesty Yempaabou, Chief of the Bogande Canton, also graced the occasion with his presence.

Author Banhanla Guitanga opened the event with a poignant question about the harsh realities families face due to alcoholism. Her novel depicts the plight of young people ensnared in a cycle of addiction, highlighting the social, economic, and psychological consequences. Guitanga's work calls for awareness, dialogue, and action to protect future generations.

The patron, Tiewende Jean Balima, emphasized the book's relevance, noting its reflection of the local situation where many young lives have been lost to alcoholism. He advocated for a version of the book in the national language and called for alcohol-free spaces and better support for those with addictions.

His Majesty Yempaabou lauded the novel as "very useful for society," urging the public to embrace it to better safeguard young people. The Secretary General of the province, Mendien dit Moussa Soma, highlighted the regional concerns regarding alcoholism and the government's regulatory efforts, urging collective action to protect the youth.

The event concluded with engaging discussions and a book signing, with the novel available for 3,500 FCFA. Participants stressed the importance of collective efforts to combat the issue of alcoholism among the youth.
