Sandbondtenga: The activities of the Primary School Sports Organization (OSCEP) of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Mane reached their climax on Wednesday with the grand football final which saw the Malou A school crowned champions, victorious over the Wennane school on penalties by 7 to 6, after a scoreless draw at the end of regulation time.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after an intense and hard-fought match from start to finish, it was finally the Malou A team that dictated its law in the fateful penalty shootout, succeeding seven shots against six for its challenger, the Wennane team. Succeeding the Tanzeongo B school, champion of the 2025 edition, Malou A won the prestigious trophy as well as a financial envelope of 35,000 CFA francs.
The Wennane school, ranked second, received the sum of 25,000 CFA francs, while the third and fourth place finishers in the football tournament received 20,000 and 15,000 CFA francs respectively. The OSCEP 2026 in Mane, themed "Affirming Resilience and Citizenship," also featured competitions in women's cycling, theater, and storytelling.
The top participants received cash prizes. Rejoicing in the organization's success, the head of the CEB of Mane, Yacouba Bazongo, emphasized the strategic importance of OSCEP in the current national context. 'These activities promote the civic values dear to our country, particularly in the dynamic of the progressive and popular revolution,' he said.
He specified that sport and culture in primary school remain bulky for strengthening the social fabric. The president of the special delegation (PDS) of Mane, Wendinconte Alain Kiemtore, praised the sacrifice and selflessness of the teaching staff, whom he described as "the pillar of a sovereign Burkina Faso". For him, "school is not just a building, it is a forge where souls are tempered, where hearts are welded together and where dignified and proud Burkinab¨ are made."
Launched on February 4, 2026, the activities of OSCEP 2026 took place in an atmosphere of camaraderie and fair play, to the great delight of the cohesion between the children of the same territorial entity.
