Manni:The Manni Basic Education District (CEB) recently convened its first management council meeting for the 2026-2027 school year under the leadership of Dahani Marcellin Damolga. The meeting addressed critical issues such as student enrollment, teacher staffing needs, and supply difficulties in the district's schools.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was attended by representatives from thirteen schools. They reported that most teachers were present at their respective schools. However, the CEB recorded a decrease in student enrollment to 3,687 students from 4,234 in the previous school year, a drop of 547 students. Despite this decline, there is a strong demand for enrollment in the first year of preparatory school (CP1), coupled with a shortage of teachers in some schools.
The start of school activities was delayed due to the arrival of a convoy on October 15, 2026, bringing educational staff, teaching supervisors, and students to Manni. Additionally, supply challenges were discussed, as food and supplies from Bogandé require specific transport arrangements to reach Manni. The CEB head urged principals to communicate these constraints to school councils to aid in finding solutions.
Dahani Marcellin Damolga emphasized the importance of ensuring access to education for all school-aged children. Inspector Yemboani Yonli advised principals and teachers to efficiently implement programs and prepare candidates for practical exams. The head of statistics, Daporé Madiega, and the head of human resources, Dimanche Madiega, highlighted the need for regular data submission and special attention to the enrollment of girls and students with disabilities.
Léopold Bourgou, head of examinations and competitions, urged directors to prepare candidate lists for the Primary School Certificate (CEP) and ensure the availability of birth certificates. Discussions also included curriculum innovations and sector reforms, with the announcement of a new literacy center for teachers.
Participants expressed a commitment to overcoming challenges and supporting children's education.
