Manni: Gold miners from the Djoro region have made a significant contribution to the town of Manni by donating approximately 2,175,500 CFA francs. This donation is aimed at supporting the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and vulnerable individuals within the commune.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation includes 120 fifty-kilogram bags of rice, six twenty-liter containers of oil, six cartons of soap, one carton of Maggi bouillon cubes, and one bag of salt. Additionally, 500,000 CFA francs have been allocated to aid in the fuel supply for the security forces. The gesture comes at a time when the region faces a challenging security context, and it is seen as a demonstration of patriotism and commitment to the homeland.
The official handover ceremony was held at the town hall, attended by local authorities, representatives of the forces engaged on the ground, and community leaders. Emmanuel Tindano, president of the special delegation of Manni, praised the gesture as more than a simple donation, describing it as “a true declaration of love for Manni.”
The military detachment head, known by his nom de guerre, Blind, expressed gratitude to the donors, acknowledging the importance of such contributions during difficult times. Similarly, the head of the VDP highlighted the moral significance of the donation, noting that it serves as a source of inspiration and courage.
Ablass Gnada, the head of humanitarian action, extended thanks on behalf of the vulnerable people, emphasizing that the gifts provide not just material support but also emotional warmth. Local authorities have called upon all Manni nationals, both within Burkina Faso and abroad, to follow this example of civic duty, emphasizing that national solidarity is crucial in combating insecurity.
