Tenkodogo: The 9th edition of the Human Resources Cafe on Saturday honored Mariam Nacanabo/Kalandjibo of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tenkodogo as the best human resources director in 2025. The ceremony, held under the patronage of the Minister of Civil Service, Labor and Social Protection, Mathias Traore, highlighted the excellence, professionalism, and innovation of Burkinabe HR managers.
According to Burkina Information Agency, for her victory, Mariam Nacanabo/Kalandjibo received a trophy, a laptop, and a check worth 500,000 CFA francs. In addition to the evening’s highest honor, she also won the award for best HR director in a ministry or institution.
Other prizes were awarded: the best HR Director of State Public Establishments (EPE) went to Bassirou Sankara of the Police Academy, the best for state companies went to Abdoulaye Siemde of the Burkinabe Broadcasting Company (SBT), and the best for the banking and insurance sector went to Fran§ois de Sales Ouedraogo of the Societe Generale du Burkina Faso (SGBF).
Special awards were also presented. The special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award went to BF1 television for its program “Pepite d’entreprise.” The Best Skills Developer award went to Rayane Moukadam, while the Best Social Manager award went to Hammadoun Dicko and Ag Mohamed Al Moubareck. The Jury Prize was awarded to Bassirou Sankara for the remarkable work accomplished within his organization.
In addition, recognition trophies were presented to Joachim Ouedraogo, Ramata Sakande/Drabo, and Fidele Yameogo. A special tribute was paid to the late Yves Francelin Toe, former president of the Burkinabe Association of Human Resources Managers (ABGRH).
In his address, Minister Mathias Traore congratulated the winners and praised the work of the Burkina Faso Network of Human Resources Management Professionals and the jury. He urged the recipients to remain “salt, light, and leaven” in their professional circles.
The patron of the ceremony, the Minister in charge of Digital Transition, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, as well as the president of the ceremony, the Minister, Chief of Staff of the President of Faso, Captain Martha Celeste Anderson Medah, also extended their congratulations to the winners for their exemplary behavior.
The evening, marked by artistic performances and a vibrant tribute to the fighting forces, was attended by several members of the government, including the Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, and his counterpart in charge of Infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, as well as the Secretary General of the Government and the Council of Ministers, Ousmane Ouattara. The Governor of the Nakambe region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, was also present.
Under the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of the Human Resources Function,” the 9th edition of the HR Cafe provided a framework for reflection on the changes in the HR function in the digital age.
By rewarding the best directors and managers, the HR Awards 2025 highlighted models of professionalism and innovation, called upon to inspire and raise human resources management to a higher level, in the service of national development.
