Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè government on Wednesday established the Burkina Information Agency (AIB) as a State Public Establishment (EPA) of an administrative nature to enable it to better fulfill its missions collection of information for everyone.This Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the Council of Ministers adopted two reports which respectively establish the Burkina Information Agency (AIB), as a public establishment of the State of an administrative nature and approval of the specific statutes of the new structure .According to the Minister of Communication, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, this erection will give the AIB all the means to fully assume the mission of collecting, processing and making available healthy and professional information for the benefit of institutions and media.According to the authority, it will also be a matter of ensuring that the citizen's right to information can be fulfilled.the Burkina Faso Information Agency created on May 27, 1964, lost its autonomy in 1999 before b eing attached to the daily Sidwaya to form Éditions Sidwaya.This status has not always allowed the AIB to properly fulfill its missions, due to lack of human resources and material means among others.Source: Burkina Information Agency
