Meeting, trial and adoption of laws on the menu of Burkinabe dailies

The daily newspapers of this Wednesday echo the adoption of laws in the transitional legislative assembly, the Mohamed Sinon affair, and the meeting of women with the president of the transition Captain Ibrahim Traore .

The public daily Sidwaya mentions on its front page: "Security situation: The Head of State receives the support of the women of Burkina".

The newspaper informs that the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré exchanged on Tuesday July 18, 2023 with the representatives of the women of Burkina.

Coming from the 13 regions of the country, they reaffirmed their commitment alongside the Head of State for the success of his mission to reconquer the national territory.

According to the newspaper, the women's coordination of Burkina met with the president of the transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré around the concern "Contribution of women to the effort of security, peace and social cohesion in Burkina Faso". .

On the same subject, the private newspaper Le Pays indicates that beyond this meeting, women's representatives from different regions first presented the worrying situation in areas with strong security challenges.

According to Le Pays, women have requested that they be taken into account in decision-making bodies and encouraged the Head of State to strengthen communication activities for social and behavioral change.

From another angle, the dean of the dailies L'Observateur Paalga headlines: "Gendarmerie defamation case: 30 months in prison required against Mohamed Sinon".

The newspaper informs that the member of the Arica revolution movement Mohamed Simigna, alias Mohamed Sinon, was again at the helm on Tuesday July 18.

He reproached him for having damaged the honor of the gendarmerie by declaring in a video that this army body does not participate 100% in the fight against terrorism.

In another section, the private newspaper L'Express du Faso displays: “Tax and customs incentives for SMEs: MPs say yes! ".

L'Express du Faso informs that the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT) examined and adopted in its plenary session of July 18, 2023 in Ouagadougou, two bills on tax and customs incentives for small and medium-sized enterprises and the project of law authorizing the ratification of the protocol of additional agreement relating to the control bodies of WAEMU.

On this same subject, the newspaper of all Burkinabè Sidwaya adds that the government explains itself by the fact that the economic fabric of the UEMOA space is made up of 99% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and contributes to the formation of the GDP up to 35%.

By the way, Le Pays adds that the Minister in charge of the Economy Aboubakar Nacanabo affirms that despite the difficult context where the security issue is a priority, we must work to ensure development.
