Merit of 46 Individuals Recognized for Advancing Burkina Faso’s Mining Legislation

Ouagadougou: The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries awarded letters of congratulations to 46 individuals from the department for their contribution to advancing mining legislation in Burkina Faso. The ceremony took place on Tuesday and highlighted the dedication and professionalism of those involved in developing important texts in the mining sector.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Yacouba Zabr© Gouba emphasized the significance of the ceremony, describing it as a meaningful acknowledgment of the recipients' efforts. These individuals played a crucial role in the development and adoption of the Mining Code and local content laws set for 2024, along with their implementing texts. The Minister articulated that these legal texts and their application are crucial for ensuring the beneficial exploitation of the country's mineral resources for its citizens.

Minister Gouba expressed his appreciation for the work done by these dedicated individuals, encouraging them to continue their efforts and setting an example for their colleagues. He hoped that their commitment would inspire others within the department to achieve the ministry's objectives.

Zonas Hien, speaking on behalf of the recipients, expressed that the recognition serves as a motivation to persist in their endeavors.
