Minister Delegate Visits Biodigester Installation at Les Pani¨res Farm

Komsilga: The Minister Delegate for Regional Cooperation, Stella Eldine KABRE/KABORE, visited a biodigester installation at the 'Les Pani¨res' farm in the rural commune of Komsilga, Central region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was organized by the Alliance for Biodigesters in West and Central Africa (AB.AOC) in collaboration with the National Focal Structure (SFN) of Burkina Faso. The purpose of the visit was to provide the Minister with a firsthand look at the impacts of biodigester technology in rural communities. The farm, managed by the SAWADOGO family, serves as a model for producing clean energy and reducing reliance on wood for cooking.

During her visit, Mrs. Stella Eldine KABRE/KABORE observed how the biodigester aids in clean energy production and reduces health risks. The effluent from the biodigester is used to support productive agriculture without the need for chemical fertilizers, fostering a market for organic fertilizers.

The Minister commended the SAWADOGO family for their role in promoting endogenous development and assured them of the Department of Foreign Affairs' support. She emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and climate diplomacy through biodigester technology. The Minister highlighted the benefits of the system, including improved health for young girls and women, environmental preservation, and reduced working hours for women.

Mr. SAWADOGO expressed gratitude for the Minister's visit and the valuable advice provided, which he believes will empower his farm team to achieve more positive outcomes. The three-hectare farm integrates livestock breeding, agriculture, and fish farming, with the biodigester as a key component of its sustainable circular system.
