Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma hosts Youth Hackathon Consultative Session, 21 May

Minister Dlamini Zuma in partnership with the NYDA will host a consultative session (Hackathon) with the youth on building new democratic cities

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Waseem Carrim, will host a Youth Hackathon Consultative Session under the theme “#Building_Together”.

The purpose of this hackathon is to solicit inputs and participation on the conceptualisation of new democratic cities that are reflective of spatial integration representative of the democratic dispensation demographics. To ensure inclusivity CoGTA has adopted the hackathon concept as vehicle to drive consultative stakeholder engagement sessions in keeping with principles of #Building_Together.

To build truly democratic cities we must engage all of society for collaboration and co-production particularly the youth as they constitute the future, said Minister Dlamini Zuma.

CoGTA as tasked with coordinating all of government through the District Development Model and the NYDA equally charged with the responsibility of Youth development,  it is logical comprehensible for the two partners to co-champion the process of engaging all of society in the spirit of #Building_Together.
