Ouagadougou: More than 200 seedlings were planted on Saturday in Poa during a reforestation day organized by Lvis Agro-Sylvio-Pastoral promoter, Lvi Zoubga. This initiative marks the first edition of the event, drawing participation from young people, teachers, agricultural VDPs, and various local stakeholders.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Lvi Zoubga expressed gratitude to the PDS of Poa and His Majesty Naaba Kaongo, who were represented at the ceremony, as well as to the young participants for their efforts in digging holes and planting seedlings. The director of the Tondo-Tenga training center in Ampo, Olivier Bado, invited the youth to utilize the site for agriculture and livestock farming development. He emphasized the center's readiness to support and train young people to transform the site into a center of excellence.

Olivier Bado urged young people to prioritize education over gold panning, encouraging them to value professions in agriculture and livestock farming. He assured support for reputable cooperatives. Ambroise Nabi, Secretary General of the CNVC of Nando, highlighted the importance of tree planting for forest preservation and hoped the site would serve as a training ground for young people. He urged local authorities to identify and support genuinely interested youth.

Representing Poa PDS, commune's secretary general, Ousmane Sawadogo, welcomed the initiative as a wake-up call. He stressed that young people are the nation's future and emphasized the necessity of regular maintenance for the planted trees to ensure their survival.
