Mouhoun/Catholic Education: Deserving actors rewarded


The regional directorate of Catholic education of Dédougou, organized on Sunday, September 22, 2024, the closing of its back-to-school council marked by the Eucharistic celebration at the Sainte Anne Cathedral of Dédougou and the presentation of awards to the actors who distinguished themselves in excellence during the 2023-2024 school year.

After three days of reflection to take stock of the past school year and approach the 2024-2025 school year with serenity around the theme: “Succeeding individually and collectively to build peace”, the diocesan management of Catholic education in Dédougou closed its activities on Sunday, September 22, 2024, with a thanksgiving mass and an award ceremony for deserving actors.

The schools and educational establishments of Catholic education in Dédougou recorded, during the 2023-2024 school year, 98.28% in CEP, 77.17% in BEPC and 71.34% in Baccalaureate all series combined.

With these results which give reasons for satisfaction, it was appropriate for the diocesan manag
ement of Catholic education in Dédougou to give thanks to God and to reward the actors and artisans of these results.

To do this, the best students in these different exams received various prizes including school kits, bicycles, tablets and financial envelopes.

The best teachers received certificates of recognition and financial envelopes.

The best teacher, Eugénie Sow, from the private primary school Notre Dame de la Consolation in Safané, achieved a 100% success rate with a class of 57 students.

She received a certificate of recognition, a financial envelope and a laptop, as well as the best schools and establishments.

For the diocesan director of Catholic education in Dédougou, Ab Alfred Wilfried Ki-Zerbo, the ceremony of excellence is an opportunity to express recognition to the various actors for the work accomplished.

He praised their efforts which helped achieve better performances.

idually and collectively in order to contribute to building peace.

The regional director in charge of secondary education, vocational and technical training in Boucle du Mouhoun, Dr Denis Vimboué, expressed his gratitude to the first leaders of Catholic education in the diocese of Dédougou, for their valuable contribution both in terms of access to education and quality.

While praising the initiative of the ceremony, he invited students and teachers of Catholic education to always take the path of perfection.

“We must not spare our strength and energy in moving towards excellence,” said Dr. Vimboué.

The diocesan executive secretary of OCADES Caritas Burkina in Dédougou, Father André Toé, congratulated the various actors for the best results obtained.

“I invite you to carry out your work as an educator in excellence. Always keep the bet of excellence for each year,” he said before making the commitment of his structure to always accompany excellence with other prizes that will be put into play.

The repre
sentative of the father of the diocesan family of Dédougou, Abbé Jean Gourou, after congratulating the Bishop, encouraged the actors of Catholic education to take ownership of the theme of the year to build a world of peace because, he said, “to educate is to humanize.”

He invited them to work well done, work kneaded with excellence that brings us closer to God, that brings us closer to each other on the paths of success and peace.

The diocesan management of Catholic education in Dédougou brings together in this 2024-2025 school year, 17 primary schools, 07 secondary education establishments and 02 nursery schools.
