Safane: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Safane organized the 4th edition of its day of excellence on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, recognizing the best contributors in the education system to promote merit and performance in the school environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was chaired by the 2nd Vice-President of the Special Delegation of Safane, Moumouni Doro, representing the President, under the theme: "Celebrating merit to encourage initiative and perseverance in the face of challenges in the school environment." The event was attended by administrative, customary, and religious authorities, school council officials, education system actors, and the local population.

The canton chief of Safane, Dr. Sina Sere, commended the strong participation and encouraged learners to respect their parents and teachers. He highlighted that excellence stems from constant commitment and honored teachers for their dedication.

Inspector Fidele Sangare, chairman of the organizing committee, noted that winners were selected based on the 2025 Primary School Certificate (CEP) results. He expressed hopes for future editions to include more on teachers' daily performances and thanked the town hall, partners, and sponsors for their support.

Head of the Safane CEB, Karim Dembele, urged students and teachers to continue striving for excellence and praised the special delegation for its educational support.

Zoye Kote, the ceremony's sponsor and member of the National Union of Cotton Producers of Burkina Faso (UNPCB), expressed satisfaction with the event and encouraged students to work harder, pledging continued support for educational initiatives.

Moumouni Doro reiterated the municipality's commitment to prioritizing educational initiatives. Awards based on the CEP 2025 results included school kits and scholarships of 25,000 CFA francs for four students, bicycles and school kits for six others, a Sirius brand motorcycle for Gounbane Adama from Yankasso A school, a laptop and certificate for Emmanuel Sere from Notre Dame de la Consolation school, and a tablet and certificate for Hamidou Maga from Safane D school. Certificates of recognition were also awarded to the event's sponsor and patron.

Through this initiative, the CEB of Safane aims to enhance the culture of excellence and foster performance in the local education system.
