Ouagadougou: The National Police traded their usual missions for construction gloves this Wednesday, September 16, 2026 in Ddougou, to participate in the making of paving stones at the Faso Mªbo regional site and to bring a large batch of equipment intended to strengthen production.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after several units of the combat forces, the mobilization of the National Police reinforces the chain of actors involved in the production of paving stones in Ddougou. Under the leadership of the Regional Director of the National Police, Divisional Commissioner Valentin Kabore, police officers participated alongside other actors already involved on the site in the various stages of making paving stones intended for the development and beautification of cities.
Divided into teams, the men and women in uniform worked diligently on measuring materials, molding, and drying paving stones, under the guidance of the technical teams present on site. For the Regional Director of the National Police, there is a dynamic of collective mobilization and citizen engagement, and the National Police, as an institution alongside the people, could not remain behind. "That's why we mobilized this morning, not only for the paving, but beyond that, we wanted to make a modest contribution in terms of equipment," explained the Divisional Commissioner.
Similarly, he reassured that the national police, in the dynamic of operationalizing Faso Mªbo, will support the process to the end. Comrade Kabor called on police officers who have not yet done so to join the mobilization and to contribute, according to their means, to Faso Mªbo.
According to Faso Mªbo's deputy coordinator at the Ddougou site, Sub-Lieutenant Faouzi Maga, this contribution comes at a crucial time and the work is progressing normally, but remains hampered by a shortage of molds, which limits the site's actual production capacity. "Work starts from 8am to 12pm. Another team takes over from 2pm to 6pm. But, given the shortage of mussels, the team that comes in the morning finishes the mussels. In the evening, we find ourselves with nothing to do," he said.
Faced with this constraint, the deputy coordinator appealed to the sons and daughters of Ddougou, including those living outside the city and in the diaspora, to contribute to strengthening the site's capacities. Second Lieutenant Faouzi Maga invites them in particular to support Faso Mªbo with donations of molds, aggregates or cash, to allow the teams to maintain and increase the pace of production.
Faced with the strong mobilization of police officers, approximately 3200 paving stones were made in less than three hours of work. At the Ddougou site, the successive commitment of the fighting forces illustrates this collective mobilization, where everyone contributes, according to their means and skills, to the making of paving stones for the beautification of our cities.
