Mouhoun Secondary School Exam Preparations Unveiled at Press Conference

Mouhoun: The regional directorate in charge of Secondary Education in Boucle du Mouhoun held a press conference in D©dougou to discuss the organization of upcoming school exams and to seek media support in disseminating accurate information.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was led by Regional Director Raoul Sanon, alongside Provincial Director Aude Claudine Ki/Ou©draogo and the Head of the Examinations and Competitions and Certification Department, Yaya Traor©.

The conference aimed to provide an overview of the exam preparations in the region. Sanon emphasized the collaboration with the Defense and Security Forces, which facilitated the transportation of materials and examination subjects across almost all provinces. This year, 15,113 candidates, including 8,673 girls, are registered for the Brevet d'©tudes du premier cycle (BEPC). For the Professional Studies Certificate and the Professional Aptitude Certificate (BEP/CAP), there are 863 candidates, including 252 girls. The Baccalaureate will see 7,843 candidates, with 4,038 girls participating.

These numbers indicate a decline from the previous year, attributed to the high success rate in 2024. The regional directorate is also set to organize professional certification exams (CQP and BQP) for 1,608 candidates, spread across 30 juries.

Despite challenges, Sanon expressed confidence that the exams would proceed without issues, acknowledging the groundwork already laid. He extended his best wishes to all candidates. The media raised questions about the SIGEC software used for exams, which has been problematic in the past. Improvements have been made to enhance its usability, facilitating the organization of exams.

The Boucle du Mouhoun region has faced a challenging security situation, leading to school closures in several areas. However, with the commitment of security forces, many localities have been liberated, allowing schools to reopen. This has resulted in lower numbers of students, but the resettlement of localities has allowed for the reopening of exam centers. Internally displaced students have been able to register in reception areas and will take exams where they registered.

This press conference, the third of its kind, was crucial for strengthening communication between educational authorities and the media to ensure accurate information reaches the public. The regional management anticipates positive media coverage that will contribute to the success of school exams in the region.
