Mouhoun’s Presidential Initiative for Food Self-Sufficiency: 25 Agricultural Volunteers Begin Operations in Kona

Mouhoun: The President of the special delegation of the commune of Kona, Ali Sanou, received 25 agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) from the second cohort of the Presidential Initiative for Food Self-Sufficiency, who are now ready for deployment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, these young volunteers hail from the commune of Kona and have undergone patriotic immersion and technical capacity strengthening in agro-sylvo-pastoral production in Bobo-Dioulasso. This training equipped them with practical skills tailored to local needs, aiming to boost agricultural production and reinforce national food sovereignty.

Upon returning to their locality, the agricultural VDPs demonstrated their national dedication through a ceremony at the Kona town hall, where they raised the national colors. This act symbolizes their commitment to republican values and their resolve to contribute to community development amidst security and humanitarian challenges.

Ali Sanou, the President of the special delegation, commended the volunteers for their patriotic commitment and sacrifices during their training. He encouraged them to maintain discipline, rigor, and professionalism in their duties and to be examples of resilience and solidarity within their communities.

Sanou emphasized the strategic importance of their roles in enhancing food security, encouraging good agricultural practices, and supporting local producers. He assured the volunteers of municipal authorities' support in fulfilling their tasks.
