Tenkodogo: The Minister of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, Moumini Zoungrana, accompanied by a large government delegation, officially launched the written tests for the 2026 baccalaureate session in the Nakamb© region on Tuesday. From Tenkodogo, he invited the 5,405 candidates in the region to approach this exam with serenity and confidence, while praising the combined efforts of the actors in the education system, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), which allowed the exams to be held in a peaceful atmosphere.
According to Burkina Information Agency, it was at the Tenkodogo Regional Vocational High School that Minister Moumini Zoungrana officially launched the written exams for the 2026 baccalaureate. After visiting the composition rooms and encouraging the candidates, he proceeded to open the envelope containing the mechanical construction test, option Automotive Vehicle Maintenance (MVA).
Addressing the candidates, the minister emphasized the significance of this stage in their academic journey. He highlighted the importance of the baccalaureate as a gateway to research, design, and specialization, encouraging candidates to follow their calling and contribute to Burkina Faso’s development.
In the Nakamb© region, 5,405 candidates, including 2,993 girls and 2,412 boys, are participating in the exams this year across various series, including A4, C, and D, as well as the vocational baccalaureate. These candidates are distributed across nine examination centers with 23 juries, including 12 in Boulgou, three in Koulp©logo, and eight in Kouritenga.
The minister expressed his gratitude to all participants involved in the education sector for a school year marked by serenity and collective commitment. He particularly commended the teachers, educational supervisors, administrative staff, and jury officials for their efforts in organizing the school examinations.
Mr. Zoungrana also paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces and the VDP, acknowledging their role in ensuring secure conditions for the exams. He noted that even in remote areas, the work of the security forces and volunteers enabled the establishment and smooth functioning of juries, signifying progress despite challenges.
During his visit to Tenkodogo, the minister encouraged future graduates to partake in the national reforestation initiative by planting a tree to commemorate their success in the baccalaureate. He suggested that each successful candidate plant a tree as a lasting testament to their hard work and perseverance.
Following the examination center visits, the ministerial delegation paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty the King of Tenkodogo before returning to Ouagadougou. The 2026 baccalaureate session in Nakamb© is taking place under the themes of confidence, resilience, and hope, with the goal of educating a youth capable of fulfilling Burkina Faso’s aspirations for development and sovereignty.
