Municipality of Ouessa Grants Scholarships to Ten Vulnerable Students

Sourou: Ten vulnerable students from the commune of Ouessa, in the province of Ioba, received scholarships of 25,000 CFA francs each, accompanied by certificates, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the initiative of the special municipal delegation. The scholarship award ceremony was presided over by the President of the special municipal delegation (PDS) of Ouessa, Isma«l Sanogo, in the presence of the head of the basic education district, Val¨re Kpoda, and officials from schools in the municipality.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the PDS explained that this initiative is part of the special delegation's social activities, intended to support orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) to ensure their continued attendance at school. Mr. Sanogo emphasized that the beneficiaries were chosen based on specific criteria and encouraged them to remain disciplined, diligent, and academically focused.

The financial support provided by the scholarships is expected to cover tuition fees, the purchase of school supplies, and meals for the students.
