Musicians from Burkina Faso and Ghana Unite for Cross-Border Concert

Pô:Artists from Burkina Faso and Ghana held an integration concert in Pô on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with the aim of fostering fraternity and social cohesion through music. The concert was organized by Ghanaian musician Kayah Bu.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was themed "Music in the service of social cohesion between the border communities of Burkina Faso and Ghana." It gathered cultural actors and music enthusiasts from both countries to break down geographical and linguistic barriers and strengthen cross-border bonds.

Ali Akiwan Bilgo, chairman of the organizing committee, emphasized the concert's goal of enhancing brotherhood between the border communities of the two nations. The patron of the ceremony, Issaka Tapsoba, noted that the collaboration of Burkinabe and Ghanaian artists on one stage highlights their shared cultural and artistic heritage.

Tapsoba also encouraged musicians to continue promoting messages of peace, tolerance, and unity. Over a span of four hours, about a dozen artists, including Kayah Bu and Awetou, performed for the audience.

This initiative is not Kayah Bu's first act of solidarity. In 2025, he organized a concert to support the Defence and Security Forces (FDS), donating a ton of rice and 200,000 CFA francs to the FDS of Nahouri province.

Before the performances, traditional authorities blessed the event, expressing hopes that the joy and peace celebrated in Pô would spread across the whole national territory.
