Muslim Community in Fara Celebrates Eid al-Adha with Emphasis on Interfaith Cohesion and Patriotism

Sissili: The Muslim community of the Fara commune celebrated Eid al-Adha under the banner of interfaith cohesion at the municipal stadium. The prayer, led by Grand Imam El Adj Drissa Sakand©, was attended by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Aloys Ouango, and members of the Special Delegation. This prayer focused on the definitive return of security to Burkina Faso, with calls for unity and peace.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the gathering began with a prayer session led by the Grand Imam, who recited verses from the Holy Quran. The prayer was directed towards Allah the Merciful, seeking the complete restoration of security in Burkina Faso and praying for the country's highest authorities. Imam Sakand© emphasized the importance of adopting behaviors that promote genuine cohesion with other communities, highlighting that respect and tolerance are essential in combating the common enemy of terrorism.

In his address, the President of the Special Delegation, speaking on behalf of the group, extended wishes for a happy Eid al-Adha to the entire Muslim community. He expressed that the festival serves as a reminder of the values of sharing, solidarity, and self-improvement. He encouraged the community to foster a spirit of forgiveness, social cohesion, and harmonious living. He also urged the attendees to remember and support displaced individuals, widows, orphans, and those in need.

The PDS and its delegation stressed the importance of solidarity in addressing the security, economic, and social challenges facing the region. They extended wishes for health, peace, and prosperity to the entire population of the Fara commune and Burkina Faso. Furthermore, they commended the efforts of traditional and religious leaders, security forces, and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in maintaining social stability.
